On Monday, Nick Boynton was officially put on the waiver wire, as well as being a healthy scratch for the team against the Panthers that night. Boynton has been a bit of a disappointment for the Ducks this season and now the Ducks need some flexibility with his contract. There are some rumours floating around that he is attracting some interest, so he might be moved by Noon ET today.
It's been a terribly unlucky year for Bruins defenseman, Mark Stuart. He's already been out of the line-up with a broken sternum this season and now will miss the next four weeks with a broken finger, which he suffered against the Kings this weekend. The Box 30 defenseman will get a reprieve in the schedule with the Olympic break and all, so it isn't quite as bad as it sounds.
With all the wheelin' and dealin' that the Flames are doing these days, there is bound to be a bit of a shuffle going on. On Monday night, Box 9 forward, Mikael Backlund, was scratched from the line-up to make room for the new faces that were brought in from Toronto over the weekend. It's unclear as to whether or not Backlund is going to be sent back down to the AHL right away or he might stay due to the possibility of some space made for him via more deals.
