Scary moment in Montreal on Wednesday night, as Josh Gorges took a Mike Green slapshot to the side of the head, while blocking a shot. Gorges did have to be helped off the ice and he was losing a lot of blood, but the fortunate thing was, it looked to be more of an impact wound from his helmet than anything. The word on Thursday morning is that Gorges was practicing with the team and should be okay.
It looks as though Box 7 forward, Ryan Jones, was a healthy scratch for the Predators on Wednesday night. Jones hasn't been listed with any injury concerns, so I think its fair to say he was a scratch. With no points and a -2 rating in his last five games, it was likely time to give him a square kick in the rear. He shouldn't be out of the line-up long, as it sounds like non-pool player, Jerred Smithson was injured last night and could be out for a bit.
The Capitals couldn't come away unscathed from their stop in Montreal last night, as Tom Poti left the game with an undisclosed injury. It's another one of those with little informaiton available or any idea whether or not he'll be good to go in Ottawa tonight. I suppose we'll have to stay tuned for this one.
On the bright side for Washington, we can expect to see Semyon Varlamov in net, as they take on the Senators. He's finally good to go and will get the start.
