Stephen Weiss, one of the team's top players, sat out the weekend's tilt against the Thrashers with a lower-body injury. The word that I've read today is that this injury is somehow related to Weiss'
previous lower-body injury, which he was dealing with in January. The concern is that it is his lower back, but of course, the Panthers are not going to say. Consider him day-to-day for now.
In the middle of Sunday's action, Dale B. sits only 5 points out of 3rd place and he doesn't want to hear about any long-term injuries to this 20-goal scorer this season. Dale will need Weiss to be healthy down the stretch to keep marching up the standings. This is one of the tightest races we've seen and the more bodies in your line-up, the better chance you have to succeed.
