The Blue Jackets have reportedly elected not to send qualifying offers to potential restricted free agent defensemen Anton Stralman and Sami Lepisto by Monday's deadline, making them into unrestricted free agents when the clock ticks over into the free agency period on Friday afternoon.
Both Stralman and Lepisto had poor seasons in the scoring columns in 2011, picking up 18 and 16 points, respectively, finishing outside of the pool-worthy top 80.
Both blueliners may be determined as good fits as bottom pairing (5th or 6th) players, but expectations will be rather low, meaning their fantasy values will be slim to none, which will also depend on where they may land with a new job.
