The Coyotes have signed their back-up goalie from 2011, giving Jason LaBarbera a new 2-year deal, reportedly worth $2.5 million over the duration. LaBarbera did not see a lot of playing time, but acted well as a back-up goalie to a high-minute starter in Phoenix last season. With some uncertainty as to who may be the starting goalie for the 2012 season, at least LaBarbera has his hat in the ring for the discussion, but I would imagine that the Coyotes are going to pick someone up, since Ilya Bryzgalov likely won't re-sign with the club this Summer.
LaBarbera was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this Summer, after a season with 7 wins and 2 shutouts.
The Blues decided to re-sign T.J. Hensick to a new 2-year, two-way deal on Monday, reportedly worth $1.2 million for the whole deal. Hensick only managed to play 13 games with the Blues in 2011, picking up 3 points, so he isn't a very big fantasy threat, but at least he is being given another shot at being one. This isn't a big deal, but it is worth mentioning that he'll return to St. Louis for at least another couple training camps.
