It was a late scratch for Marian Gaborik, as he was held out of the Blue Jackets line-up on Thursday night, due to a bout of the flu. It sounds like Gaborik has been dealing with the illness for the better part of the week and it was likely decided that rest was the best option for him. He will be listed as out day-to-day.
That's a missed game for Clayton, who has dropped from 6th place at the end of Week Two to 8th place through Thursday night of Week Three. Clayton now sits 12 points out of the money and is in the middle of the pack for games remaining in the week with 16.
The Florida Panthers saw the return of Tim Thomas to their line-up, after missing a week with a groin problem. The return didn't seem to do the Panthers any good, as they still dropped a 3-2 decision to the Bruins on Thursday night.
Nevertheless, it is good news for Ryan M., who has managed to hold his own in Thomas' absence from his line-up. Ryan remains in the top 10, sitting in 9th place after Thursday night, 13 points out of the money. He needed the win to jump up a couple spots, but wasn't fortunate enough.
