Pittsburgh Penguins forward Beau Bennett has actually been on the shelf for about a week now, but has been missed out on the some of the blog posts over that time. Bennett has been nursing a lower-body injury since October 15th and had only resumed skating on Saturday. He was not able to return on Monday night and there was no timetable published as to when he is expected back at practice.
Bennett has now missed out on four games this season for the Penguins and Scott G. in the pool. The Penguins as a whole have not had much luck with their line-up this year and Bennett is one of those question marks this year.
Fortunately for Stacey M., her team was able to hold out long enough, keep themselves in great shape, as they waited on the return on Mika Zibanejad. On Tuesday morning, the Ottawa Senators announced that they have called up the young centre, as they had sent down Stephane Da Costa on the weekend. Zibanejad was thought to be a lock for the opening night roster as training camp opened up, but it was Da Costa that turned some heads in camp and took the spot away. It just wasn't to be for Da Costa, however, and now the change has been made.
Stacey opens up Tuesday night in 5th place, 4 points out of the prizing and Zibanejad is one of three donuts on her team, so far this season. She has benefited from some big play from some of her other big guns, but a healthy body back in her line-up might go a long way.
