Late on Wednesday night, the Colorado Avalanche assigned three more players to the AHL, having to put them on waivers on Thursday morning first, including defenseman Zach Redmond, who had a pretty good year with the Avs in 2015. Redmond had 20 points last season, finishing 90th among all defensemen in scoring last season and it had him in pool contention for the draft this year. Initially this Summer, I had Redmond as returning to the lineup and being effective in doing so, projecting him to 30 points. His demotion has now dropped him down to 10 points, but it has opened the door for guys like Nikita Zadorov or Brandon Gormley to jump up and be pool worthy.
