Fabbri Dealt a Concussion
The St. Louis Blues are not off to the greatest of starts to the season, going 1-1-0 in their first couple games of the season, but the news does get worse, as they have announced that rookie forward Robby Fabbri is now out indefinitely with a concussion.
Fabbri suffered the injury in Saturday night's contest against the Minnesota Wild after taking a hit to the head from Corey Potter in the 1st period of the game, having only 3:27 of ice-time in the game.
Fabbri was getting his career off to a decent start on a personal note, scoring his first NHL goal in his first NHL game, but only saw five shifts in his second game, not quite enough to add on to those totals.
This is also bad news for Ryan, who finished Week One in 1st place in the standings, both overall and in the rookie race. The best news that Ryan could get at this point is that Fabbri will miss the minimum amount of time to the NHL concussion protocol, which will cost the 19-year old a week's worth of action, but according to some reports, it seems doubtful that he'll be back right away. With Joni Ortio not getting any starts in Calgary, Ryan is now down to two active rookies on his team, down from the four he started with at the draft.
