The word on the street, prior to the Flames hosting the Capitals at the Saddledome tonight is that forward Joe Colborne is set to make his season debut, coming off the Injured Reserve, where he was listed with a broken thumb. Colborne missed the first couple of weeks of the regular season after suffering his injury in the preseason.
This is pretty good news for Mike, who has been desperate for some skater games of late. Mike took a chance on the lanky forward in the 12th round of the draft, hoping that he wouldn't miss too much time and he really hasn't, but he has missed some time, which has hurt his side a bit. Will he score enough to make up for it?
It sounds like the Tampa Bay Lightning are not going to be without Victor Hedman for any longer than a single game. The franchise blueliner is expected to be back in the Bolts' lineup tonight, when they take on the Nashville Predators. Hedman has been out with an undisclosed injury, but it's been a short stint on the shelf and he can get back to work.
In five appearances this season, Hedman has had 4 assists and 2 PIM for Kristy & Don to start the year and they'll start the night in 17th place, 16 points back of 1st place.
