Schwartz Suffers Fractured Ankle
The St. Louis Blues haven't had a great deal of luck to start the season, having already seen injuries to Robby Fabbri, Kevin Shattenkirk and Paul Stastny in game action this season, they have now suffered another huge hit as Jaden Schwartz has undergone surgery to repair a fractured ankle, which he suffered in practice on Friday and he will be re-evaluated in 12 weeks time.
The 23-year old forward was expected to do some big things for the Blues this season, but hadn't exactly gotten off to a rocket start, only having 4 assists in the first seven games of the season, as the Blues were shuffling up some of their lines to find the best chemistry to start the year.
The 12-week timeline will certainly be a huge hit to Clayton's season, as the injury will carry on through the Week Nine Waiver Draft and well into the second segment of the season, re-evaluation at the end of Week Fifteen. This will make for a huge decision for Clayton, assuming that his team is still somewhat in the race still. His team goes into Saturday's action among the bottom third in scoring for Week Three, but has managed to maintain his 7th place standing from the start of the week.
Schwartz was taken with a 4th round pick, 86th overall this season.
