Broken Foot for Stastny
The prognosis on Paul Stastny's lower-body injury is about as bad as it gets, given what we knew about the injury beforehand. Stastny suffered the injury on the weekend blocking a shot and on Wednesday, the Blues placed the scoring forward on the Injured Reserve, citing a broken foot and that they would re-evaluate him after five weeks.
The 29-year old was having a rocking start to the 2016 season, having picked up 5 points in his first five games, figuring in as an integral part of the St. Louis offense.
For Neil, Stastny was quickly working out to be a bargain pick in the 6th round, taken 155th overall. His 5 points currently has him ranked 80th overall. Unfortunately, with this injury, Stastny won't likely return until Week Eight or Week Nine, which, in essence, would make him into a Waiver Draft pick-up, which is a free one for him. He'll hope that he hasn't fallen too far down the standings before he counts again.
