This afternoon, the St. Louis Blues announced that forward Paul Stastny was on his way back home, while the team continues their road trip, to deal with an injury that he suffered on Friday night against Vancouver. The early indications about the injury is that it is a lower-body injury, suffered when Stastny blocked a shot in the 2nd period, left the game and didn't return. The Blues have stops in Winnipeg and Montreal before heading home for a game next Saturday, with the Islanders in town, so it will be interesting to see whether or not Stastny could be ready for that game or if he's going to be out longer. Only tests will tell...
Stastny has had a great start to the season, picking up 1 goal and 4 assists in the first five games of the season, helping to boost Neil's team to the top of the standings. Neil went into tonight with a 4-point lead, the lead for the Mover & Shaker again and the Blues still have another game this week. This injury could play large at the top.
