Afternoon Player Notes in the Draft (Dec 17)

Things are awfully grim down in Columbus, especially since the Blue Jackets were already without their safety net and number one goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky.  Their most relied upon forward will be a healthy scratch, as Ryan Johansen will be in the press box, thinking about what he has done recently.  The Jackets are in Arizona, so it may be the game to do that, but still... that doesn't exactly make for good optics going forward.

The Jackets will also be without a couple of defensemen tonight as well, as Jack Johnson is currently day-to-day with an upper-body injury and David Savard is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.  We have no clarification on the nature of the injuries, but these two are also expected to be out tonight.

How about some good news then?  Kevin Connauton, who has been a healthy scratch for a couple of weeks, will finally get to draw back into the lineup, thanks to the blueline injuries.

In the pool, we have Troy with a goalie already out, Eric's forward will be a scratch, while Jeremy & Troy have defenders injured and Wes has a defender going back in.  That's a lot going on for one lineup, especially for the pool.  Not sure I've seen that before.
