Noon Player Notes in the Draft (Dec 12)

The Edmonton Oilers said last night that defenseman Oscar Klefbom had left the game against the Rangers with an injury and wasn't going to return. It turned out that the injury was a broken finger, but it doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as it sounds, as they only expect him to miss this upcoming 4-game road trip in the East.  That isn't too bad, one would think.

The injury could cost upwards of a week, which means he could hit the IR, if necessary, which would take some projected games away from Eric's column, at worst right now.  Eric currently sits in 10th place in the standings, 23 points out of the money and could probably use Klefbom, if the Oilers are going to score a touchdown in some games.

Well, the triplets didn't last very long together, upon Ondrej Palat's return this week, as Tyler Johnson has re-aggravated his undisclosed injury from a week or so ago and the team now believes that he'll be missing a few games, at the very least.  No one can really speak about what to expect here, as we don't really know what's wrong with Johnson, but he's back on the list as out day-to-day and we'll leave it at that, unless more details emerge.

Johnson was thought to be a bargain pick in the 3rd round of the draft for Neil, taking into account how dominant he was in the playoffs last year.  Yet he has been anything but.  His 11 points now have him ranked 256th overall and his absence will make it difficult for Neil to stay with the money group.

The big news of the morning was that Pittsburgh was doing away with their coaching staff and adding new coaches from their farm system to take over, but they also announced that they now expect Kris Letang to be out for a couple of weeks, as he is dealing with an upper-body injury of sorts, but it was confirmed that it isn't a concussion that he is dealing with.

So, this will hinder Jeremy's chances of staying in the money as well, as he opened the day only a couple of points out of the conversation, down in 5th place.  It's been a rough Week Ten for Jeremy, who is coming off a Basement Dweller week already.
