Goalie Announcements (Dec 14)

Amazingly, all five games on the schedule for Monday have confirmed goalies, which is great news for this post, as it could be posted straight away, with only minor fears that a coach will have a sudden change of heart, leading up to game time.

Five teams remain in the survivor pool, so let's see how many goalies we can count on for some action here tonight.

Out of the ten teams playing, we have four goalies that are survivor pool guys and they are all playing in different games, so we have absolutely no drama between them tonight.

John P., our pool leader, has both of his goalies going tonight, as Chad Johnson will get the nod for the Sabres against the Red Wings in Detroit, with Petr Mrazek (Tony) at the other end, while Craig Anderson will go for the Senators, who are hosting Jonathan Quick (Brenda & Seward) and the Kings tonight.  Neither game appears to be very easy for John's keepers, which may keep things interesting for him this week.

In Columbus, Ben Bishop will get a start for Allan and the Lightning, as they take on a goalie making his debut for the Blue Jackets, Joonas Korpisalo, who is getting a start with Sergei Bobrovsky (Troy) still on the shelf.  Don't know what to expect out of the Finnish freshman, which could make this an interesting game to watch.

Finally, Jeremy will get a start tonight as well, with Braden Holtby and the Capitals in Pittsburgh for a rivalry game against the Penguins.  It will be Marc-Andre Fleury (John R.) at the other end of the rink and a new coach on their bench, so it could be a tough slog for Holtby.

In the only other game tonight, we have Cam Talbot (Brian) and Jonas Gustavsson (Stacey C.) going head-to-head, as the Oilers start a road trip in Boston tonight against the Bruins.
