Afternoon Player Notes in the Draft (Dec 20)

The Pittsburgh Penguins may not open up Week Twelve with Sidney Crosby in their lineup, as they play Monday night, hosting the Blue Jackets, but their captain is day-to-day with a lower-body issue. This news dropped on Sunday morning from the coaching staff after practice, as Crosby didn't skate, and since there are very few details, we would likely classify him as questionable for the game.  It's hard to tell as to whether or not this announcement was used for any future lineup decisions or maybe an excuse for his lack of offense recently.  Either way, it's something.

To no one's surprise, Crosby was the 2nd pick overall in the draft this year, but he has been working out to be one of the bigger busts in the round.  His 22 points in 32 games has him ranked 102nd in pool scoring, which is not where Mike wanted to see this pick at, especially this close to Christmas.  Could this sink him even farther?
