Pulkkinen On the Shelf Before He Gets to Go

How incredibly unlucky.

One of the available and taken Red Wings in this week's Waiver Draft, Teemu Pulkkinen, has suffered a major shoulder injury in Thursday night's game against the Arizona Coyotes and the team has announced on Friday that he will be out of action for the next 6-to-8 weeks with a separated shoulder.

In 24 games this season with the Wings, the 23-year old Finn has 6 goals and 11 points, plus 10 PIM, which made him a higher ranked forward available this week, but was hardly a superstar option.

Scott used his 1st round Waiver Draft pick to drop Tyler Ennis to pick up Pulkkinen and given this situation, a 3rd round pick compensatory pick will be given to Scott, since we're in the season of making trades and coming away with two fresh players for our lineups.  He will get a fresh pick after everyone else is done, which should be enough to be both fair and punishing in the end.
