Goalie Announcements (Jan 11)

This is kind of like a mini vacation with all of these bye weeks going on!  It's not like I have to do much digging for all of these starts.  I suppose already having our two surviving teams makes it a little more difficult... but only by a little tiny bit.

Let's see what we have going on tonight in another quiet night... three games!

Sergei Bobrovsky (Derek B.) versus Linus Ullmark (N/A)
In Buffalo tonight, the last place in the east Sabres will play host to the 4th place team from Columbus.  Linus Ullmark takes a top 10 pool team match-up away tonight, getting his first start of the season tonight for the Sabres, not allowing Kristy & Don to have a start here.  Derek B. gets a start, however, as his 10th place pool team will get a start to try and cut down the 20-point gap between the two pool teams and a shutout doesn't seem impossible either.

Scott Darling (Clayton) versus Braden Holtby (Grant)
Already qualified for Week Fifteen, Grant gets a start from Braden Holtby and the Capitals, as his team tries to raid the money spots, starting from 23 points and four spots behind in 7th place.  Clayton's team is tied for the Basement Dweller nod after Wednesday night's action and he gets a rare start from Carolina tonight, as the Hurricanes start a back-to-back set, tonight and tomorrow.  Scott Darling, the 38th ranked goalie in the pool, gets the nod, trying to get the number one job back.

Mike Smith (Ryan) versus Andrei Vasilevskiy (Wilton)
The NHL's best is still active in this boring week and the Tampa Bay Lightning are hosting the Calgary Flames tonight, which sees Wilton get another start from the pool's best player, Andrei Vasilevskiy, and Ryan get a start from the 10th ranked goalie, Mike Smith.  Unfortunately for Ryan, his money hopes have pretty well just dried up and just because Smith is the 10th best goalie, doesn't mean the Flames have much of a chance against the high-powered Lightning tonight.  Of course, upsets happen, and this is why they play the game... so, maybe Ryan's goalie can play spoiler.
