Wild Expect Niederreiter Out One Week

The Minnesota Wild were without forward Nino Niederreiter on Tuesday night against the Calgary Flames, due to a lower-body injury, something which the team believes will keep the scoring forward out for about a week.  It is believed that the injury came in the team's previous game, back on Saturday in Colorado, a game that he finished as well.

The Wild are in a bit of a busy period, playing again tonight in Chicago and then they have back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday, so it will be a solid stretch without the Swiss-born forward.

The 25-year old has posted 13 goals and 19 points in 31 games this season, already having dealt with some injury problems earlier this year, but still ranking 231st in pool scoring.

Derek B. would probably be getting about the amount of production to be worthy of his 205th overall selection in the draft, if Niederreiter wasn't getting hurt this season.  Still, it hasn't been a terrible pick, considering the time missed already.  Derek's team finished Tuesday night in 10th place, 29 points out of the money.
