Lightning Lose Palat Long-Term

A slash by Minnesota's Jared Spurgeon on Saturday will keep Tampa Bay's Ondrej Palat out of the lineup for the next 6-to-8 weeks, according to the team on Monday.  The injury is only categorized as a lower-body injury and that was as far as they would go.

The loss of Palat piles onto the trouble that Tampa Bay has had recently, losing All-Star defenseman Victor Hedman to injury as well.  Palat has had a decent year, so far, scoring 8 goals and 30 points in 46 games, ranking 126th overall in pool scoring, after Monday night's action.  That would be the opening pick of the 6th round, if we were to redo the draft today.

That means Jeremy was getting very reasonable production from his 6th round pick, 139th overall, meeting expectations, until now, of course.  Jeremy's team has been hit hard by injuries as well and has dropped from 1st place, as late as Week Seven, now down to 11th place and 37 points back of top spot.  Palat now has to be considered as a drop in next week's Waiver Draft.
