Recent Contract Extensions (Jan 12)

5 goals and 18 points in 43 games this season, good enough for 261st overall in pool scoring, 182nd among all forwards, is good enough for a 3-year, $9.75 million extension these days, I guess. Andrew Cogliano signed a brand new extension with the Anaheim Ducks on Friday, with those sort of numbers in tow.

Cogliano has been a Waiver Draft pick up in each of the last two years, suggesting that no one has that much faith in him at the opening draft in the last couple of seasons, but Wilton is cashing in on him this year, picking up 5 points in 16 games, since being activated.

The Ducks are going to be one of the interesting teams to watch this summer, with key free agents like Ondrej Kase and Nick Ritchie up front and Josh Manson and Brandon Montour on the blueline to be signed, although they are not struggling for cap space... yet.
