Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Jan 17)

The Nashville Predators are dealing with the injury bug, as it's mowing its way through the better part of their lineup these days.  Already without Filip Forsberg, the Predators put Viktor Arvidsson on the IR, due to an injury that was believed to have been suffered in practice on Monday, likely counting him out for this week and then they lost Ryan Johansen to an upper-body injury, when he got hit by Vegas' William Carrier in Tuesday night's game.  The Arvidsson injury isn't believed to be too serious, but placement on the IR did allow them to make a call-up, while we're still waiting on the results of any testing done for Johansen's injury.

The Arvidsson injury takes some more games out of Kristy & Don's coffers for the next week, as they have been hit pretty hard by the injury bug, as a whole, but they remain only 10 points out of the money spots and they will need their healthy players to hang on just a little bit longer.  Brian's team has just had the crap kicked out of it, due to injury, as his team has fallen from 1st to 15th in the last 6+ weeks and this injury will see to a further fall.

The New Jersey Devils had to make some quick moves, as they found that Cory Schneider was feeling ill on Tuesday, so they had to make a call down to the AHL to bring Ken Appleby up to backup Keith Kinkaid for the game against the Islanders.  It doesn't sound like anything major, just the run-of-the-mill flu bug that has been traveling around the league.  The Devils play again on Thursday night against the Capitals and if should be safe to assume that Schneider will be back for that contest.

It has to be a bit disappointing for Jeremy, missing out on this start, especially since the Islanders were rolled, 4-1, last night and that would have been a good 2 points to have, especially since Jeremy's team has fallen down to 7th recently.  Stuart didn't seem to mind though, picking up those 2 points for his 4th place team.
