Groin Injury Sidelines Reimer

The Florida Panthers coaching staff confirmed on Thursday morning that the lower-body injury that goaltender James Reimer suffered on Tuesday night was indeed a groin injury and the expectation is that he will be missing in action in a week-to-week sort of fashion.

With the injury situation in Florida these days, they are now running with Harri Sateri and Sam Montembeault for the time being, Sateri being the more veteran of the two, having made three appearances in the NHL this season.  The Panthers are already 11 points out of the wild card spots in the Eastern Conference, so it is safe to say that they are likely done in that regard.

Troy's team was trying to make some strides in the standings and was getting some distance out of Reimer, his 4th round pick this season.  After a slow start and a lack of games, Reimer was getting the starts in Florida, making 32 appearances in total and posting 13 wins and 2 shutouts for 30 points this year, good enough for 133rd overall.  The loss is fairly substantial for Troy's team, which currently sits in 18th, 27 points out of the top 10.
