The Anaheim Ducks have announced on Tuesday that they have re-signed their young defenseman Luca Sbisa to a new 4-year deal that is worth $8.7 million. Sbisa has been bounced around a few times between the junior ranks, minors and pro clubs during his 3-year entry-level deal, which concludes this year, but has now seemingly found a new home in Anaheim. The cap hit for this new deal works out to be just under $2.2 million, which is a sign that he has found a good system in Anaheim and should be able to flourish down the road.
In 52 games this year with the Ducks, Sbisa has 2 goals and 6 assists, playing anywhere between 10 to 20 minutes a night for the team, depending on the situation that they find themselves in. Those are by no means ground-breaking numbers, but the number of games he's been able to play is a big plus for his career.
