Confirmed early this afternoon, the NHL has decided to suspend Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Pavel Kubina for 3 games after delivering an elbow to Blackhawks forward Dave Bolland. Kubina will miss Friday's game versus the Senators, Saturday at Florida and Monday in Toronto.
As per the poor video above, this hit looks to qualify for all of the head shot rules that are being enforced these days and the ruling is in line for a first offense of this nature.
This will finish the week and creep into next week for Clayton C.'s draft team, but missing out on a defenseman is the least of his worries, as he tries to battle his way back out of the basement. Clayton's defense in the 2011 draft has been very poor, so missing out on three games will likely feel like he was actually in the line-up anyways.
