Goalie Announcements (Sep 21)

Group B is far from decided, as to who can get through and in what position will each team be in. On Wednesday afternoon, the kids of North America will get their toughest test yet in Team Sweden and it should be a marquee goalie match-up.

It sounds like Matt Murray is dealing with an undisclosed injury, which means John Gibson will be today's starter in an important game for North America, while Connor Hellebuyck will dress as the back-up today.  On back-to-back days, it should be Henrik Lundqvist going again for the Swedes, fresh off his shutout yesterday.

Sweden will be able to clinch 1st place in the group with a win, but if they were to drop this decision in regulation, we'll get to play the goal differential game and it would get more exciting, if Russia was to win tomorrow.

In the pool, Scott will get a start out of his North American keeper, while Cam should be getting another start from his only keeper in the pool.  Scott is only a couple of points behind Cam in the standings and getting all of his big boys to play today.

In the late game, it will be back-to-back days for Team Canada, as they will be playing host to the European superpower in this tournament.  Both teams have clinched their spots in the next round, but now they will be playing for 1st place in Group A.  The winner of this one will get the 2nd place team in Group B on Saturday, while the loser will get the 1st place team on Sunday.

Canada is taking this game to rest their number one goalie, as Corey Crawford will draw in for a start tonight, while Europe doesn't plan to take their foot off the gas, dressing their star player, Jaroslav Halak, trying to win the group tonight.  Crawford will offer Tony a start in this tournament and possibly a chance to get out of last place in the standings in what has been a rather unlucky tournament.
