With all the World Cup hooplah, it is kind of lost on me that full on training camps open next week. In Ottawa's camp, they will be bringing defenseman Matt Bartkowski on as an invitee, as he is still one of the last few pool worthy UFA's on the market today, still without a job.
Last season, he played with the Canucks, where he had 18 points in 80 games and he'll skate on a team that may not have the deepest of bluelines, which could be a good fit for him. His chances of actually earning an NHL job/contract are pretty good here, one would think.
