Noon World Cup Player Notes (Sep 14)

Almost forgot about the scratches from last night! I'm sure the few poolies I have would want to know these things, if they're reading these posts.

For the Finns, most notably, forward Teuvo Teravainen came out of the lineup for Sebastian Aho, while there was also a change on defense, as Ville Pokka came out and was replaced by Sami Lepisto.  The third goalie, Mikko Koskinen, remained in the press box and likely won't figure into the tournament.

On the American side, they scratched a couple of forwards, Brandon Dubinsky and Kyle Palmieri, dressing Matt Niskanen and David Backes, going with seven defenders, technically speaking, but moving Dustin Byfuglien up to the forward lines for even strength situations.  It was an interesting look, to say the least, and it's hard to say if that is an idea that will stick moving forward.

For pool consideration, Teravainen belongs to Neil, while Aho belongs to Benson and that was a trade straight across for the game.  No mention on the lineup moving forward into the tournament.  Dubinsky belongs to Dale and Palmieri is Cam's pick, both coming out for Backes, who belongs to Tony, but Niskanen wasn't chosen.
