The Hurricanes got some good news today, as Scott Walker, a Box 22 forward, has been activated from the Injured Reserve and should figure into the Carolina line-up for the first time this season. Walker, suffered a broken hand, which needed surgery, and has sat out to start the year. He should be a good influence on the team, which has needed a little bit more of a spark, both offensively and defensively.
The Canucks breathed a sigh of relief on Tuesday, as Michel Ouellet, a Box 24 forward, passed through re-entry waivers and was called up to the team in order to fill another gap. On the way back down was non-pool forward, Jason Krog, who couldn't seem to keep his place on the first power play unit with the Sedin twins. Ouellet will likely have some power play time with the big club, as the team still looks for help to score some goals in the absence of Pavol Demitra.
The Capitals are expecting Alexander Ovechkin back in the line-up tonight, as they take on the Senators in Ottawa. Ovechkin has been away from the league for a week, visiting his ailing grandfather. You could possibly speculate that his family matters were bringing him down and now that he is back, Benson, who picked him in the Draft, will be hoping a return to form.
