It was a good night in Florida, as the Panthers saw the returns of a number of players on Thursday. Stephen Weiss (Box 19 forward), Bryan McCabe (Dennis' draft pick & Box 27 defenseman) and Gregory Campbell (non-pool) all returned to the line-up from their respective injuries. The Panthers have been hit hard in the early part of the season with injuries and it was good news to see a few of them return to the line-up before the weekend.
With the return of a few players, some players in the line-up earlier in the week had to be scratched. Surprisingly, one of those was Rostislav Olesz, who figures in Box 22 of the Sheet. Olesz has had a slow start to the season, scoring only 2 goals and 2 assists in the first 11 games of his season and thta doesn't seem to be sitting well with the coaching staff. It is likely that he'll figure back into the line-up this weekend, as they likely can't afford to keep any offense out of the line-up willfully for too long.
Finally, an injury update on Cory Stillman... he is listed as out day-to-day with a concussion. Since he is listed as out with a concussion, he'll have to sit out at least a full week, which has seen the majority pass by already. He will likely be re-evaluated in the early part of next week to see if he's ready to go right away. With concussion symptoms, teams are continuing to be as cautious as possible in dealing with the injury, but Stillman does leave a pretty big hole in the offensive plans.
