Nabokov Reeling

You have to believe that there is a number of people holding their breath at word that Evgeni Nabokov could be out of action for an undetermined amount of time.

The San Jose Sharks have announced that their number one goalie, the top goalie of 2007/'08, has been listed as out day-to-day with a 'lower body injury.' The injury was said to occur in the final plays of the Sharks 5-4 shootout win against St. Louis. There has been no definite amount of time to be missed by Nabokov, but it doesn't seem terribly likely that he'll be ready for the Sharks' next game against Dallas on Saturday night. The Sharks have called up Thomas Greiss to the big club to likely back-up Brian Boucher.

Nabokov, a 6th overall pick by John B. (our new Draft leader), will be missed greatly, if he is to miss a substantial amount of time. Thanks to Nabokov's excellent performance last season, it definitely made him a popular pick on the Sheet as well. All his owners there are likely going to hold their breath to see what the final diagnosis will be there, on whether to move to another Western Conference starter.

This season, Nabokov has registered 10 wins for San Jose, ranking him third among pool players to this point in the year.
