A New Mason to Watch

It's some exciting times for the Blue Jackets, as another one of their top prospects is making some noise. Steve Mason has taken some starts from Fredrik Norrena this week and has done great things with them already. In two starts for Columbus, Mason has taken the reins and won them both. The injury to Pascal Leclaire has opened the door for Mason and the youngster will make it hard for Leclaire or Norrena to take starts away.

With only a few weeks to go until the Waiver Draft, there should be some more eyes focused on Columbus and their goaltending situation. If Leclaire can come back and have trouble getting into the crease, then Mason will be a very popular guy come Week Nine.

Mason is thought to be one of the better blue chip goalie prospects in the league, especially after his success with Team Canada at the Under-20 level. In keeper leagues, he should be a top prospect for poolies as well.
