The Islanders welcomed Josh Bailey to the their line-up on Tuesday afternoon in the Veteran's Day game against Philadelphia, thanks in large part to an injury to Mike Comrie. Comrie is to have his surgically repaired hip examined in the next day or so to double check how the repair job was. Comrie must have been feeling some discomfort in his hip to have it re-examined. There is no idea of when Comrie will return to the line-up, but he is only listed as out day-to-day for now.
Comrie has 8 points in 14 games for the Islanders so far this season, which isn't necessarily a poor start to the year, but isn't theoretically up to par for him either. Comrie is a Draft pick of John P. and is a member of Box 17 on the Sheet.
