The Washington Capitals haven't really enjoyed their current road trip a great deal, going 1-1-1 so far and their next stop is in San Jose on Saturday night. In the one game they did win, in Anaheim, they managed to lose a big piece of their team in Mike Green, who suffered a shoulder injury after a crushing hit by none other than Chris Pronger. The injury will likely cost Green up to a week in time missed, including last night's loss to Los Angeles.
Green, a Draft pick of Larry's, has had a great start to the season, picking up 7 goals and 9 assists in 18 games for the Capitals. Green was also a very popular pick on the Selection Sheet and with those numbers, you can tell why. Green is a big part of the Washington offense, including the power play, and his absence should be felt across the board. The Capitals were 1 for 5 on the power play against the Kings, but their only man-advantage goal came on a 5-on-3 advantage.
