Seidenberg, 28, played in 70 games for Southeast Division rival, Carolina, in 2009, scoring 5 goals and adding 25 assists, a career-year for the German-born defenseman.
The Panthers have now filled out the bulk of their theoretical roster, now looking to fill in some more of the depth players going forward. 12 forwards, 6 defense and a pair of goalies highlight the squad (listed below) for an approximate cap hit of $50.2 million. That should leave plenty of space left open for the depth players that will fill the 23-man roster.

The Panthers, on paper, look more like pieces from many different puzzle sets all put together to make a brand new picture. There's a number of new names on their list, especially on the back end, which will bring up the question of team chemistry and whether or not they'll find it right away.
The move to pick up Seidenberg should be a positive one, as they have added another option for moving the puck forward and around on the power play. Unfortunately, the Panthers haven't answered the biggest question in the off-season, "have they done enough to win?"
