The Blackhawks have reportedly placed both goaltender Corey Crawford and defenseman Aaron Johnson on waivers today, likely in order to send them down to the minors.
With this news, it should be safe to say that Antti Niemi has won the back-up job in Chicago, making it a battery of new faces for the crease.
Neither Crawford or Johnson were part of the 12 Blackhawks taken in last night's draft.
