An update was given on injured forward, Andrei Kostitsyn, and it wasn't a good update. Kostitsyn underwent knee surgery on Friday, which will now keep him out of the line-up for the next six weeks.
In 40 games with the Habs this season, Kostitsyn has 12 goals and 13 assists, ranking him 148th in the pool scoring standings. In 2009, he finished the season 199th, so he was seeing some great improvements, but that all comes to a halt with this injury.
This news doesn't have much significance to the Draft this year, but Kostitsyn could have been selected in the second Waiver Draft this year, as he is in the top 23 list of forwards available for it. This will be a good speed bump to see if anyone is paying attention next week.
On the Sheet, Kostitsyn was taken twice in Box 20 this season and this injury should seal his fate for a trade out of the pool. I would suggest making this trade, if you have him and end up picking Tim Connolly in his stead.
