The Red Wings got even more bad injury news this week, as Tomas Holmstrom will now be out of the line-up for four weeks with a fractured foot. Holmstrom, a Box 6 forward, suffered the injury on Wednesday in practice. In 42 games, Holmstrom has 15 goals and 6 assists for the Red Wings.
It was another return to the press box for Peter Mueller on Thursday night, as the Box 3 forward has not been producing much for the Coyotes at all this year, having only 10 points in 36 games. Mueller only has one assist in his last five games and his ice-time has been taking som pretty big hits of late. It looks like a good bet that he's back on the trading block again.
An undisclosed injury forced Ruslan Fedotenko out of the Penguins line-up against the Flyers last night. He apparently left the morning skate early and was then scratched from the line-up. The Box 22 forward has been a healthy scratch as well this year, which was the initial thought to his absence, but upon further reading, an injury has taken place. Consider him day-to-day for now.
