As the season drew closer and closer, training camp around the corner, it seemed more and more likely that the return was going to happen. On Friday, the announcement was made that Teemu Selanne would indeed return for another season with the Anaheim Ducks.
Now 43 years old, Selanne has not been a burden to the Anaheim line-up, even though his scoring rate did drop considerably in the 2013 shortened season. In 2013, he finished up with 12 goals and 12 assists in 46 games for the Ducks, where the season before, he tallied 66 points in all 82 games.
I don't think there is going to be a trend in a lowered scoring rate for the Finnish Flash, but I can't really see him hover too high. My overall projection for him will drop tomorrow with the rest of the team's and the rest of the league.
A farewell tour will be good for him and for the league.
