Some scary reports out of news outlets in Philadelphia were starting to suggest that Flyers forward Claude Giroux re-injured his surgically repaired wrist and had to back out of some charity events, but the club has now since come out and said that the Flyers' captain was injured golfing, as one of his clubs shattered in his hand, splitting open his index finger and did some tendon damage. Giroux underwent surgery to repair the damage today and will likely be out six weeks.
Training camps start around the league in about a month, so it looks like Giroux will be missing a fair bit of camp, but I would imagine that he will be okay for the start of the regular season.
