The Sabres look to be without forward Paul Gaustad for a minimum of 3-to-4 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair his right thumb. Gaustad had a torn ligament in his thumb, which required surgery.
Last season, Gaustad appeared in all 82 games, scoring 10 goals and adding 26 assists, which did make him a candidate for a late forward pick in some pools. Missing the next (or more) will hurt his numbers somewhat, so you may want to wait for a mid-season period to make any moves for him.
