The Ottawa Senators demoted seven players on Wednesday, including two players that were thought to be closer to the bubble than the first cuts. Newly acquired Ryan Shannon and Ilya Zubov were included in the seven players sent to the Binghamton Senators, which now opens up some spots for players possibly more deserving.
Shannon will likely prove to be a valuable asset in the minors, as he has a lot of minor league experience and would be a good call-up later on in the year. Zubov, on the other hand, has been trying to crack the Sens line-up for a while now, but has failed miserably doing so. Fantasy value for both players has dropped to zero.
