Jackets Lose Prospect Services
There isn't a great deal of immediate effect in this piece of news, but the Columbus Blue Jackets will be without top prospect keeper Steve Mason for the next 4-to-6 weeks after undergoing knee surgery. Mason originally suffered the knee injury during the season with Kitchener of the OHL and missed out on the playoffs and Memorial Cup run. There wasn't a lot of belief that Mason would be an impact player this season with Columbus, but now that he'll miss out on training camp, he won't be in consideration for the starting or back-up positions, held by Pascal Leclaire and Fredrik Norrena, respectively.
