One of the hopes for the teams that headed over to Europe is that they come back healthy and ready to play on in North America. Unfortunately, Daniel Alfredsson suffered a knee injury and will have to undergo surgery on his knee to remove bone chips. The team doesn't expect him to miss more than two weeks, which isn't too bad at the beginning of the season.
Taken by Dale C. in the Draft, he'll be missed for fantasy purposes, as he is a very popular player. The two weeks out should only cause him to miss 8-to-10 games in the season, which could translate into 10-12 points for the Swedish captain.
