In the pre-season, the Canucks looked pretty good going 6-1 and put together some pretty good lines. The acquisition of Shane O'Brien from Tampa this week should sure up the blueline a little bit more. Captain Roberto Luongo looks to be a little more solid than his finish last season. All signs point to a better finish to the year, but there's still 82 games to play this season.
|Henrik Sedin||Sami Salo||Roberto Luongo|
|Daniel Sedin||Mattias Ohlund||Curtis Sanford|
|Pavol Demitra||Shane O'Brien|
|Ryan Kesler||Alexander Edler|
|Taylor Pyatt||Willie Mitchell|
|Steve Bernier||Kevin Bieksa|
|Alexandre Burrows||Rob Davison|
|Mason Raymond||Lawrence Nycholat|
The Canucks will also have plenty of room on the books, if Mats Sundin so happens to return and desire a move out West. The Canucks have $46.5 million committed to their line-up this season, a clear $10.2 million below the cap ceiling. Even with a pro-rated contract offer of $10 million for Sundin will be easily managed.
