Penguins Cut Pesonen

A Selection Sheet pool casualty... Janne Pesonen (Box 25 of the Sheet) has been cut from the Penguins, the day before the team opens up the season against Ottawa in Stockholm. Pesonen was tapped to be one of the new European Penguin blue-chippers that would storm the league on one of the top lines. Unfortunately, his play hadn't deemed such a situation to be true and he'll start his season in the minors when the team goes back to America, after opening their season abroad.

With both Sergei Gonchar and Ryan Whitney on the shelf to start the season, Pesonen was the last cut for the European game exemption 24-man roster. Game on!
