The new-look Blue Jackets have lots to look forward to this season, as they really did a good job finding players that should provide as good offensive weapons. Finally, Rick Nash has some quality forward talent to play with on his line, which should improve his numbers substantially.
Rookie sensation, Jakub Voracek, should finally be ready for the full-time rigors of the NHL. He should be able to snag a fair amount of points through the year.
Forwards | Defense | Goaltenders |
Rick Nash | Fedor Tyutin | Pascal Leclaire |
Kristian Huselius | Rostislav Klesla | Fredrik Norrena |
R.J. Umberger | Christian Backman
Mike Peca | Mike Commodore
Jason Chimera | Kris Russell
Manny Malhotra | Jan Hejda
Jiri Novotny | Ole-Kristian Tollefsen
Fredrik Modin | Marc Methot
Raffi Torres | ||
Andrew Murray | ||
Jared Boll | ||
Derrek Brassard | ||
Jakub Voracek | ||
Alex Picard |
Even if Torres is on the books and you counted 24 players, the Blue Jackets still only have $48.3 million against the cap, which is a very comfortable position to be in. Once he returns from his injury, look for Murray or Picard to be sent down to make room.
