The Chicago Blackhawks continued to add some cheaper help to the roster to fill it out. Joakim Lindstrom was claimed by the Hawks on Friday from the Anaheim Ducks and immediately becomes a candidate for a roster spot, because of his $500,000 cap hit he'll provide. Chicago is still reeling with salary issues with Nikolai Khabibulin on the roster (for now) and if they can't move him to another team or to Russia before the season starts, Chicago will need all the cheap help they can get.
Lindstrom was acquired by the Ducks in July from Columbus, which does put a little shroud of intrigue around him (if Burke likes him, he might not be too bad). Last season with Columbus, he played in 25 games and registered 7 points.
