In what was originally thought to be just a healthy scratch, the Islanders announced that defenseman Radek Martinek will now miss the next six weeks with an undisclosed upper body injury. Missing six weeks does suggest that it could be a separated shoulder, but that's only speculation. Martinek is only a Selection Sheet player, as he wasn't taken in the draft and it's unlikely he was taken in the Sheet pool.
